Begin with your photograph

Choose the original, highest-quality photograph available. You can replace it before adding the portrait to your order.

Up to 20 MB. The shortest side should ideally be at least 1200 pixels.

How to choose a good photograph
  • Use the original photograph where possible.
  • Choose a well-lit, in-focus image.
  • Avoid screenshots and heavily compressed downloads.
  • Keep important features away from cropped edges.
  • Multiple people or animals are welcome when clearly visible.

Measurements refer to the portrait and glazing area. The 20 mm frame face adds approximately 4 cm to the overall width and height.

Materials

Fine-art print and framing

  • Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm — a heavyweight, warm natural-white paper with a pronounced texture and velvet-matt finish.
  • Giclée printing — pigment-based fine-art printing selected for tonal depth, colour and detailed reproduction.
  • Durable Perspex acrylic glazing — lighter and more impact-resistant than conventional glass.
  • Ready to hang — printed, glazed, framed and assembled before dispatch.

Frames

Noir or Antique Gold

  • Noir — a hand-finished black solid-wood box frame with a 20 mm face and 33 mm depth from the wall.
  • Antique Gold — a satin-finished solid-wood classic frame with a 20 mm face and 22 mm depth from the wall.
  • Both are supplied without a mount so the portrait fills the full glazing area.

Express creation + shipping

  • Express creation + shipping — +£49 for Petite and Atelier; included with Galerie.
  • Priority portrait creation and express shipping for a faster journey from photograph to framed artwork. Printing and framing follow the usual schedule.
  • Delivery is included in every listed price.

File guidance

  • Upload a browser-compatible JPG, PNG or WEBP image, up to 20 MB, so you can preview and crop it before ordering.
  • For the best result, use the original file with a shortest side of at least 1,200 pixels.
  • Choose a sharp, well-lit image and avoid screenshots, filters and heavily compressed downloads.
  • You can position the crop and see the print-safe area before adding the portrait to your order.

Standard

Estimated 12 working days

Initial preview in up to 5 working days, then up to 4 working days for printing and framing after approval, with up to 3 working days for shipping.

Express creation + shipping

Estimated 7 working days

Initial preview within 1 working day, then up to 4 working days for printing and framing after approval, with express shipping typically taking 1–2 working days.

UK delivery estimates assume prompt approval and exclude time for recreations or waiting for other portraits in your order. Working days are Monday to Friday; public holidays, remote destinations and courier delays may extend these dates. Multiple portraits are sent to production together once all are approved or cancelled. If any remaining portrait has Express, all receive express shipping; Standard portraits still follow the Standard creation schedule.

Approval before production

You see the portrait before it is printed.

Review your digital preview in the secure customer dashboard. You can approve it, request a recreation, or cancel for a full refund before approval. Once approved, the personalised portrait enters production and is not normally returnable for a change of mind. Your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described are unaffected.

Ordering copies: each cart quantity is an identical framed copy of the same portrait configuration. For different photographs, crops, sizes or frames, configure and add each portrait separately.
